A ribbon is as wide as the records that state both of its ends (only the commonest are drawn). A record that names several symptoms or components runs through each. Orange is records that say the fault came back or was not fixed. Results come from owners’ reports only; one that does not say is “result not stated”. None of this is a likelihood of a cause or a rate at which work succeeds.

Vehicle Lean Adjustment Preliminary Information
1Fault
- The procedure is for customer complaints of the vehicle leaning left or right.
2Finding the cause
Steps to confirm (in the document’s order)
- Measure the fender wheel-opening heights, front and rear, to quantify the lean.
- P height (front) and R height (rear) are the distance from the ground to the highest point of the wheel-opening, through the center of the wheel.
- Before measuring, set the tire pressures to the pressure shown on the certification label.
- Before measuring, check the fuel level and add weight if necessary to simulate a full tank.
- If the left-to-right difference in P and/or R height is 1/2 inch (12 mm) or less, the vehicle is within specification and no repair is suggested.
3Correction
Repair
- The vehicle's stance can generally be adjusted with the torsion bar adjuster bolts.
- If Z height is out of spec and the D height difference is greater than 1/2 inch (12 mm), adjust Z height until it is within spec and the P and R height differences are less than 1/2 inch (12 mm).
- If adjustment is not possible, check the front eye of the rear leaf springs for matching color-coded tape or paint: if the colors differ, switch the springs side to side; if they match, replace the leaf spring on the lower side only.
- After all adjustments, perform a front-end alignment and check headlight aim.

Wiper Blade Care Information Bulletin
1Fault
2Finding the cause
Possible causes
- Most wiper performance concerns come from dirty blades, damaged blades, or worn out blades used beyond their useful life.
- Heat and time can give the rubber a permanent set so it no longer flexes and turns over uniformly, which may cause streaking or unwiped areas.
- Ice can form in the pin joints of the wipers and cause streaking and unwiped areas.
- The variation in friction these products leave on the glass makes the wipers chatter and wear prematurely.
Steps to confirm (in the document’s order)
- Inspect the rubber blades every 4-6 months or 12,000 km (7,500 mi) for wear, cracking or contamination.
3Correction
Repair
- If the blades do not clear the glass, clean the windshield and the rubber blades; if that does not correct it, replace the rubber elements.
- Clean the rubber blades with a lint free cloth or paper towel soaked with windshield washer fluid or a mild detergent.
Parts
- For exterior glass cleaning the bulletin suggests Vehicle Care Glass Cleaner, P/N 19287404 (18 oz) or 19259280 (6 oz) (in Canada, 88865156).

Automatic Door Locking Override Feature Service Communication
1Fault
- Customers may say they cannot override automatic door locking; the "Doors Lock Manually" selection in the DIC was removed starting in the 2005 model year.
2Finding the cause
Possible causes
- Since the 2005 model year every BCM is factory programmed to lock all doors when the transmission is shifted into gear or vehicle speed exceeds 8 mph (13 km/h).
3Correction
Repair
- Reprogram the BCM from Tis2Web: at the "Calibration Selection" screen select "locking" and pick the calibration "(Per customer request only) Auto Door Lock option ENABLED on DIC".
- After reprogramming, vehicles with Steering Wheel Controls (RPO UK3) get a new "Manual" selection in the "Auto Door Lock" personalization setting, next to "In Gear" and "With Speed".
- Vehicles without Steering Wheel Controls must enter the door lock programming mode described in section 2 of the owner's manual after the BCM is reprogrammed.
- In programming mode, one chime means Setting 1 (lock in gear), two chimes Setting 2 (lock with speed) and no chime Setting 3 (Manual).
Caution
- No new calibrations are available for the 2005 models or for vehicles with manual transmissions.
