The vehicle (where a record says)

A record is under an engine, a drive or a series only where it says so: the characters of the vehicle identification number filed with a complaint, its text, or what its document says it applies to. A record that does not say is kept as "not stated". The filed numbers and the documents do not tell 4WD from AWD.

Candidate cause (the documents say what to do)

Remote keyless entry and front passenger door window, lock, mirror inoperative (reprogram the Passenger Door Module)

The Door Lock and Side Window Switch contains a microprocessor called the Passenger Door Module (PDM); the condition and the repair procedure involve the PDM.

What to do

  1. Vehicles built before 01/03: refer to Bulletin 03-08-52-001C.
  2. Vehicles built during 01/03: refer to Customer Satisfaction Bulletin 03-011.
  3. Vehicles built 02/03 or later: refer to the published Service Information for the symptom the customer experiences.
  4. Instead of replacing the Door Lock and Side Window Switch, the PDM can now be refreshed and reprogrammed with the Tech 2.
  5. Re-flash the passenger door module.

Caution: The Tech 2 must contain software 23.001 (CD 3) or newer; if it does not, download this software before proceeding.
