Candidate cause (the documents say what to do)

Seat Belt Buckle

2 of the records matching this search name this component as the cause. How it failed: clogged or contaminated, failed.

What to do

  1. Shine a light on the latch plate insertion area of the buckle and look for debris or foreign objects.
  2. If debris is seen, try to vacuum it out, then latch and unlatch the belt; if it works properly, do not replace the buckle assembly.
  3. If not corrected, inspect the buckle for sticky residue; if found, the buckle assembly must be replaced at the customer's expense.
