Record by record

37 records state a cause or a remedy. Each record is shown as short labels in the order fault → finding the cause → correction. Press a label to narrow to the records that state it.

A ribbon is as wide as the records that state both of its ends (only the commonest are drawn). A record that names several symptoms or components runs through each. Orange is records that say the fault came back or was not fixed. Results come from owners’ reports only; one that does not say is “result not stated”. None of this is a likelihood of a cause or a rate at which work succeeds.

Reprogramming Passenger Door Module Owners of some 2003 Chevrolet and GMC full-size pickups and utilities, Cadillac Escalade models and Hummer H2 may have concerns that the RKE key fob does not function, the front passenger door power window, lock, mirror and heated seat are inoperative. The Door Lock and Side Window Switch contains a microprocessor called the Passenger Door Module (PDM). Instead of replacing the Door Lock and Side Window Switch, you can now refresh and reprogram the PDM using your Tech 2. TIP: Your Tech 2 must contain software 23.001 (CD 3) or newer, released March 8. If it does not, you must download this software before proceeding. And once you have identified the correct bulletin, you MUST perform the procedures described in it, in the order given, and do not skip any steps.

    Cause
Certain vehicles equipped with rearward folding head restraints on the second row seats. Two potential pinch points exist on each of the folding head restraints when the head restraint(s) are folded rearward as the seatback is folded down. If a person were to insert their finger(s) into the pinch point when the head restraint folds, it could trap and pinch the finger(s) causing injury. Correction: Dealers will install protective covers over the pinch points.
