SIR lamp on and inside mirror temperature/compass display inoperative (open air bag fuse, circuit 1139 shorted to ground)

Owners of a 2003-06 full-size utility or 2003-07 classic pickup may comment of a SIR MIL, and the temperature/compass display on the inside rearview mirror, if equipped, is inoperative.

The concern may be caused by an open 15 amp air bag fuse.

What to do

  1. Circuit 1139 (yellow) may be shorted to ground at the left I/P junction block mounting bracket.
  2. To correct the concern, repair the wiring as necessary and insulate the harness and the mounting bracket with foam tape to prevent a reoccurrence.
